A microphone has never made anyone more interesting.

The microphone works perfectly. It carries whatever it's handed to the back of the room, and it never asks what it's carrying.

Marketing is an amplifier. It reproduces what it is given, at scale, including the parts that were never working. My work begins by diagnosing the problem, followed by building the messaging, systems and websites that the diagnosis actually justifies.

Most businesses that need help already know something is wrong. That’s not the hard part.

By the time a business starts looking outside, the people inside it have been describing the problem to each other for a year. Sales are flat. The site gets traffic and no inquiries. The new hire can’t explain what the company does to a stranger without a running start. The good clients stopped arriving from wherever the good clients used to arrive from. What’s missing is agreement about which of those is the cause and which are the symptoms.

That’s the gap, and it is not a gap in effort. Most of the organizations I work with are more sophisticated than their marketing. That’s a specific condition, and the fix for it is not more marketing.

The order matters more than the steps do.

01

Diagnose

Audit, research, analysis, conversation. Understand the system before touching it. The output is a definition specific enough to act on, honest enough to be inconvenient.

02

Clarify

Positioning, message, audience, priorities. Decide what is true and what matters most before anyone writes a line of copy or a line of code for the wrong problem.

03

Build

The site, the campaign, the system, the workflow. Whatever the diagnosis justified, built for the environment you actually have, not the one a case study assumed.

Businesses often want the volume turned up before anyone agrees on what to say.

The version everyone else hears is the one you can never check yourself. Every client engagement begins with an audit. The audit records the voice of a business; it’s an honest account of what a business actually sounds like, not the version rehearsed in every internal meeting. The case studies below show what the audit found, what it meant, and what changed once we acted on it.

More marketing was never going to fix $300,000 in orders nobody could ship.

Our first conversation isn’t a sales pitch. It’s an interview, where I listen to what your business sounds like.

Strategic Audit

A structured look at the whole system: site, messaging, search, analytics, channels, and the competitive context. It ends with a definition of the problem and a prioritized roadmap.

Web + Digital Systems

Design and build, treating the site as infrastructure rather than a brochure: information architecture, performance, and a system built to be operated by the people who own it.

Ongoing Partnership

For organizations that want the thinking to continue after the build. Strategy, execution, and the kind of steady improvement that only happens when somebody is watching.

Positioning, messaging, SEO, paid media, email, content, analytics, automation, campaigns, and workflow design all show up in this work. None of them is a product. They are what a diagnosis sometimes calls for.

Who you'll be working with

My work has been essential to the success of agencies, hospitality brands, nonprofit advocacy, political campaigns, and digital strategy, on projects connected to everything from grassroots initiatives with no budget to well-funded global brands. I’ve also founded a nonprofit and organized in my own community, which is where I learned that values only matter when they are visible in practice, usually in a decision that costs something.

I work as one person on purpose. The person who does the diagnosis is the person who does the build, which removes the handoff where most of the meaning normally goes missing.

The call is thirty minutes, which is long enough to be useful and short enough that nobody has to pretend.

Even if we never work together, you will leave the conversation understanding something about your business more clearly than you did before.
